Today we stopped by Crum's so that the girls could pick their own strawberries. We had to really hunt this late in the season, but the stop was well worth it!

Don't Get Carried Away!

Tonight we caught up with the Carlisles. Nathaniel helped Kit and Winnie make slippers from cardboard, and Doc just about got carried away.

Big Grandpa & Grandma Lovie

Big Grandpa and Grandma Lovie come to watch the girls on Friday while mommy is at work. Sometimes they bring along goodies. This helps to explain Winnie's recent prayer: "Bless Big Grandpa. Bless doughnuts..."

Little Friends

Nova, the girls' friend from down the street, came over to play and eat popcorn this evening. It's funny to hear Kit tell Nova about all that's been happening in her life.

Trip to the Beach

This evening we made it to Delaware State Park Beach for the first time this season. The girls were excited to pack up and go. They were good swimmers and sand builders.

Cousins' Camping Trip 2013

This year we headed to Alum Creek State Park for our annual Cousins' Camping Trip. We had a great time despite a little rain Saturday night and Sunday morning. We welcomed Gage, Seth, Gayle and Jeremy to the gathering and were glad they could experience this tradition. The older generation came on Saturday, and we went boating (sorry for keeping you waiting so long, John). Gage took his first boat ride, and Kitster and Winnie experienced sparklers and glow sticks for the first time.

Tea Party with Brooklyn

Our friends Kim and Brooklyn came to visit on Monday. Brooklyn had fun with "Wendy," and Winnie had fun with "Broccoli."

Waldo 5K

On Saturday we headed up to Waldo for Peace Community's 5K and Day in the Park. I ran the race in 23:38, my personal best, which put me in 2nd place for ladies and 8th place overall. Seth, the girls and the Rostons were there to cheer me in at the finish.

Make It Monday: Jelly Bean Goody Bags

Kit came up with her own craft idea: jelly bean goody bags for her class. The chances of these little beauties making it until preschool is back in session are pretty slim.

Seth and Kit came up with a game in which Seth threw the ball over the house to Kit. She told me to come and see. "Mommy, you won't believe my eyes!"
