Visit from the Wolfes

Summer isn't over at our house quite yet! When Amber and kiddos came to visit on Sunday, the ice cream lady came at the perfect time.

Delaware County Fair

The girls and I went to the Delaware County Fair on Sunday. They loved it - from the animals, to the local organizations' stands, eating "elephant toes," and of course, the rides, they had a blast! And we couldn't have asked for better weather!

Home!

Boy, was I glad to see these goofy girls when we got back home on Monday. Special thanks to Grandma Lovie & Big Grandpa for giving them a fun weekend. Here are the girlies inside of their blanket fort.

Chicago

We had enough time remaining on Sunday to walk around downtown Chicago. We enjoyed Millenium Park and the artistic details along the busy streets. For dinner, we found a great plant-based restaurant called Native Foods.

Luke and Vicky's Wedding

Luke and Vicky had a beautiful outdoor ceremony at the Danada House in Wheaton. I loved that they wrote their own vows. At one point, Vicky told Luke: "Honey, I want you to remember me just like this, right here and now...because I honestly don't think I'm ever going to look any better!" (And she was stunning!)

Lisle, Illinois

Seth and I left for Illinois on Friday for Luke and Vicky's wedding weekend. On Saturday, we spent the morning enjoying the perfect weather and a French market at a park in Lisle. Following the rehearsal, we had a great time with everyone at a Mandarin restaurant.

ECC Ice Cream Social

Winnie and Kit played with new friends and old at the ECC Ice Cream Social at Blue Limestone Park on Thursday night. Later, when it was time to tuck the girls in for the night, I found Winnie wrapped up like this :) Guess she doesn't appreciate the light being left on as much as her sister does!

Cousins' Camping 2015

We spent a great weekend with the cousins at Indian Lake State Park. It was sweet Brodie's first year, and he was a champ as well as a pure delight for the children. There was lots of cornhole, bug spray (that didn't keep up), playing with walnuts, eating, and just hanging out. Matthew joined us Friday and Saturday but is not pictured. On Sunday night, we participated in the annual Ring of Fire around the lake. Special thanks to Uncle Jim and Aunt Berchie for the Indian Lake shirts, Big Grandpa and Grandma for the boat rides, Justin and Amanda for the camper as the primary kitchen, and Joe and Michelle for coming so far to be part.

Winnie's First Day of Pre-K Preschool

Winnie started her first day of pre-K preschool today. She is in Mrs. Warnock's class again. We met the other children and got to have some "exploration time." As expected, Winnie chose to play in the picture/drawing room, and we worked on a little gift for Kit.

Mrs. Warnock showed the children her brown bag with something in it that tells about herself. Inside was a Winnie the Pooh book because Mrs. Warnock is a fan. Later, Winnie shared with others that the first day of preschool was all about her and that she's the real Winnie the Pooh.
