South Haven is the most delightful community! It's quite walk-able, with charming restaurants, unique homes, and beautiful parks.

South Haven Beach

South Haven is my new favorite beach! Who knew such beauty existed just 5 hours away? Lake Michigan is crystal clear here. We played, exercised, kayaked (Doc and Kit), and swam (the girls). It was Emerson's first time to a beach, and he liked the sand. He took a little longer to warm up to the water.

Summer vacation 2018, days three through seven: we stayed at "The Buddy" in South Haven, Michigan, a gem of a find on HomeAway. This lovely home is just steps away from the beach and includes a view from the back deck. We all enjoyed homeowner Leslie who lives upstairs. She let the girls care for her koi pond.

Kidz Bop Concert

Summer vacation 2018, day two: we held a scavenger hunt for the girls to figure out what we were doing next...Kidz Bop Live 2018, "the ultimate family concert experience" at the Cincinnati PNC Pavilion. Even Emerson had a good time!

Reds with the Swaisgoods

Summer vacation 2018, day one: we joined the Swaisgoods in Cincinnati to watch the Reds beat the Cubs. It was our kids' first game, and they liked being there with their cousins. Seth ran into his college buddies Mark, Karen, and Andie.

The next day, we had breakfast and a swim before heading separate ways.

Camp Kettering

Kit and Winnie stayed behind in Kettering for a couple more days of fun, including sewing with GG, exploring the creek, and swimming with the boys.

70th Birthday Celebration

We celebrated John's 70th birthday with dinner at Figlio and dessert at the house. The children had fun decorating with the babysitters while we were gone. On Sunday, we had a brunch to celebrate all of the additional birthdays and special days, including Father's Day.
