Winnie's Half-Birthday
Before leaving for the office, I left the girls a scavenger hunt in celebration of Winnie's half-birthday. They followed the glues that led them to making brownies from scratch.

Homeward Bound
We had a fairly smooth trip home, stopping in Jackson, Michigan for lunch. Because we had Tego, we took our Fazoli's to an outdoor location. We spotted benches at the Carnegie Library. An older man sat right next to Seth and picked up Tego, loving on him for several minutes.

Friday, July 23
We really have been fortunate with beautiful weather. It rained for a couple of hours Friday morning and cleared up to be a sunny day. The girls wanted to shop so we returned to Saugatuck and enjoyed the market and live music at the Performing Arts Center. We had a light lunch at Isabel's and drive to Fennville for pie from Crane's. Emerson napped, and the girls went swimming. After we all swam, we had dinner at the condo, followed by another evening trip to Douglas Beach.

Douglas Beach
Douglas Beach is just beautiful! Emerson was so happy to have evening beach time. The kids continued to build their rock collection.

Douglas, Michigan
Today we explored downtown Douglas, a quaint, artsy area. The boys enjoyed Beery Park, and the girls and I browsed a few shops. Then we had lunch at the Guardian Brewing Company, another vegan-friendly establishment with board games.
Mt. Baldhead Park
We got in a great climb - 302 steps up, giving quite the treetop and Kalamazoo Lake view. On the way down, Kit was quick to help another girl, probably her age, who unfortunately fell a couple of steps but was ok.

Oval Beach & Ice Cream Treats
We loved Oval Beach in Saugatuck. 75 and sunny! In honor of Kit's half-birthday, we stopped for ice cream at Blue Star Cafe (and they even had vegan vanilla!).

Holland
Today we went to Holland to see Ottawa Beach, part of Holland State Park. The parking lot was full (with an incredible line waiting to get in), but when we circled back, we found a spot on the street!
