Emerson began fall tee-ball, and Seth stepped up to fill in as head coach. All of the kids were enthusiastic, and parents were involved. It was so cute to watch them run with bats, miss the bases, and throw balls randomly.

Volleyball Variety
The Hyatts Eagles won their games against Grizzell (away) and Eversole Run (home). Good job to Kit who had playing time at both.

Stitches
Kiddie Academy called on Thursday because Emerson fell coming out of the bathroom. Seth took him to the Children's Hospital E.R. in Lewis Center, and he did great getting four stitches.
I came home mid-day, and Emerson wanted to be active playing basketball, going to the playground, carrying sticks, etc. Hopefully we keep him from injuries to his already injured head! He told me, "I'll be alright."
Grandma's Birthday
Grandma Lovie got out of the hospital the day before her birthday. She has been lucky with hospital discharges occuring right before holidays and special days! The girls prepared her toenails (polish removed) for the podiatrist.
Wishing Grandma/Mom a happy and healthy year!

Lemonade Stand
Winnie and pal Emma set up a lemonade stand and let Emerson in on the fun. They made $7 on a very hot day. Emerson was glad to get his own dollar. Later, he didn't want to exchange his dollar at the Dollar Tree, but he did want to buy items. 😉
Emerson & Mina
Emerson's nearby friend Mina is a year young younger, but she can keep up with him - princess dresses and all!

Shale Meadows Open House
Winnie got to check out her new school and talk with teachers Mrs. Shoaf and Mrs. Uhlenhake. She was determined to master her locker on her own, and she eventually did. Emerson was on hand to see his future school. Before we left, he and Winnie enjoyed Kona Ice.
Challenges for Winnie
Sometimes at night I give Winnie challenges to occupy her until she can fall asleep. I gave her two options last night, and she took on both. The first was to create something useful out of a torn Pringles container. She made a whisk! The second was to sketch a Halloween costume idea. She drew a creepy Wendy!
Cedar Point
We had the best day at Cedar Point - the weather was perfect (75 and sunny). Kit and Doc had Fast Pass Plus admissions & rode most of the roller coasters. Winnie, Emerson, and I got in both Snoopy sections and a lot of general rides. It was so much fun to watch Emerson laugh on rides, Winnie show kindness to Emerson, and Kit go for all the thrills!
Suave Shopper
Emerson helped me with a quick Kroger run, wearing a shirt from Hawaii that his great-grandparents gave to Seth. A man told him, "I love your shirt, dude." When we saw him again on our way out, Emerson said, "That guy is awesome!"
Volleyball Variety
Kit's volleyball team is quite active. They had a pool party, several practices, neon/80s day at the gym, and scrimmage against other Olentangy teams. Her returns were looking strong during the first unofficial competition.

Columbus Clippers
On Sunday, we went to a Clippers game with the Lubbens, and it was HOT! A little heat didn't stop the kids from having a fun time though. Emerson thought he was going to get to play baseball, and he sort of did. And Kit's lucky streak continued with getting a ball!
7th Grade Eagles Volleyball
Kit's volleyball team began daily practice right after try-outs. Looks like they are bonding already :) We are thankful to share rides with Addy.
Gym Gains
Winnie has made a lot of progress in gymnastics this summer thanks to her ongoing class and daycamps. Her back handspring is looking good! She's been invited to the next level in the fall.

Volleyball Tryouts
Monday was the first day of 7th grade volleyball tryouts, and Kit made it through! She was sad to see a few friends cut.
On Tuesday, Emerson and I waited in the parking lot until Kit finally came out...with a HUGE smile on her face. She did it! She made the team!
We could not be more proud. She certainly put in the work over the summer. Kit told us her coach said, "I love your enthusiasm." We all do!
