Sunday Swim

Kit and I took Emerson to swim (he went diving for a ring!) and stopped by Kroger. To Emerson's delight, a special Red Bull vehicle was there.

Tristan & Jenny's Wedding

Our family had a good time celebrating the wedding of Tristan and Jenny Heltzel (former neighbors) at Dandelion Farm. Charlotte was a poised and beautiful junior bridesmaid.

Kidz Bop

We took the kids to the Ohio State Fair and let the girls walk around. They loved an Atlanta acapella group named Casual. Seth, Emerson, and I had tickets for Kidz Bop at the Celeste Center. He asked, "Can I be a Kidz Bop performer when I get bigger?"

Alum Creek Beach

The boys and I enjoyed a couple of hours at Alum Creek beach. Emerson got to play in the sand and practice handstands. 

Standup Pattleboarding

I'm glad Kit could go paddle boarding with Kenley at Alum Creek.

Winnie Saves the Day

Dad was about to cut Emerson 's face blankey from the chain of his bike. Winnie saved the day and untangled it!

Glider 1 Complete

Congrats to Emerson for graduating from Glider 1 at Goldfish Swim School! Now he's in Glider 2, and we're pleased with how he is progressing. 

Seebrook

Our last hoorah on Sunday was to check out the Seebrook Beach at the north side of the resort. To Kit's delight, it had a volleyball net.

Cozy Chalet

We made it back to the chalet just in time on Sunday after working out and lounging at the pool - a lovely summer thunderstorm popped up!

Innsbrook

We enjoyed a getaway at the beautiful Innsbrook, a gated community about 45 minutes west of St. Louis. Our favorites included an A-frame chalet in the woods, pool/lazy river, well-equipped gym, serene lakes, and abundant deer.

Missouri Botanical Garden

Despite the heat, we visited the Missouri Botanical Garden to see the Chihuly blown glass exhibit. We had lunch at the Sassafras Restaurant and spent time in the Climatron geodesic dome, too.

On Friday, we picked up Ilene and stopped by to see Steve in Jennings. 

En Route to Missouri

On Thursday, we started our trek to Missouri after Winnie's gymnastics practice. We stopped in Altamont, Illinois for the night, and Emerson personalized our room.

Westerville Skate Park

Lovely day to try out the Westerville skate park, which includes a dirt bike track and roller hockey. Emerson made a friend named Lukas (he crashed into Emerson, and then they played!).

Independence Day

We had a wonderful Fourth! The kids hung out with us before also getting to spend time with friends. The fireworks in our neighborhood were great to watch. I'm fairly certain it was Emerson's first time seeing a fireworks show. He jumped and cheered for each one during the first 10-15 minutes. He is pictured with his buddy Bryson (from across the street).

Buckeye Bounce & More

Emerson and I got in some one-on-one time. We shopped, had lunch at Swenson's, went to Buckeye Bounce, stopped by Orange Park, and got his hair cut.

Back Landscaping Continues
