More from Southwest Florida

Relaxing Beaches

We hung out south of Fort Myers Beach, primarily within a two-mile radius of Lovers Key State Park. Barefoot Beach and the beach in the state park are gorgeous with pristine sand, a variety of shells and birds, and plenty of space to spread out. One of the days we were waiting on a replacement beach umbrella, and we found just the shade we needed from a parked sand cleaning machine.

If you look closely at the bottom photo, you can see a dolphin.

10-Year Anniversary Trip

A big thanks to the grandparents for making it possible for Seth and me to celebrate our 10-year anniversary in Southwest Florida. We enjoyed watching the sunrise AND sunset from the Lovers Key Resort condo we rented on the bay. During the day, we enjoyed slow mornings, working out in the gym, eating lunch out, strolling the beautiful beaches, spotting dolphins, and simple homemade dinners. The weather was in the low eighties, sunny, and breezy.

Columbus Tournament

I love these shots another Shamrock mom took of Kit at the Columbus Convention Center.

Total Solar Eclipse

The total solar eclipse did not disappoint! I loved that we were all home to experience the once-in-a lifetime show of God's handiwork together. I just had to attach Emerson's solar eclipse artwork. Ha!

Second Tooth Gone!

Emerson lost his second tooth over the weekend and received a dollar coin from the Tooth Fairy. We also squeezed in a hike at Deer Haven.

McMillen-Jump Gathering

We hosted the McMillens, Papa, and GG on Saturday. Bo is now about an inch taller than Emerson!

Emerson Starts Kids-R-Kids

Emerson started Kids-R-Kids, and it has been a smooth transition! We love that he is engaged in meaningful activity all day and is served healthy meals.

Easter 2024

Emerson, Winnie, and I made it to the convention center to cheer on the team during their final game. Then we got on the road. We stopped at a Cheddar's in Indiana for Easter dinner, which was fairly fast and good. The kids opened candy-filled eggs in the van. It sure was an unconventional Easter but a good one!

Sloomoo Institute

On Sunday, Emerson, Winnie, and I had reservations at Sloomoo Institute, which was a unique, slimey experience! (I didn't catch that Emerson still had on pajama pants until it was too late, LOL.) We played with all kinds of slime - different textures, colors, and fragrances. We wiped our feet and walked through slime vats, and the kids made their own slime at the DIY bar. After an initial malfunction, resulting in even greater anticipation, Winnie and Emerson got slimed in the Slomoo Falls!

15 Shamrock - Windy City

15 Shamrock won two of their games in Chicago. I'm proud of Kit's leadership as the team's captain, encouraging the ladies to hold their heads up, continue giving their best, and have fun no matter what.

Out and About in Chicago

Kit's Windy City volleyball tournament took our family to Chicago from Thursday - Easter Sunday. Highlights included staying at the Swissotel in two connecting rooms (beautiful views and gym!), dinner at Robert's Pizza along the riverfront, shopping (and the girls getting into the trendy Brandy Melville store), riding escalators (Emerson), going to an arcade, enjoying food trucks at Millennium Park, viewing the city architecture, and more.
