Touch a Truck

Dad and Emerson went to Touch a Truck at OBHS on Saturday. Emerson saw lots of school buddies and enjoyed checking everything out with Bryson.

Cedar Point 2024

Seven of us enjoyed Cedar Point on Friday. Once again this summer, we were blessed with great weather & fun times together. Kit & Kenley were coaster buddies. Sarah and Winnie stuck enjoyed a variety of rides, but to our surprise, they ended up riding the Iron Dragon eight times! My favorite ride with the boys was the giant Ferris wheel.

Kids Bop 2024

Emerson, Dad, and I enjoyed Kidz Bop at the Ohio State Fair. At the end of the show, I asked him if he liked looking at the girls in the audience who were dressed up, and he said, "Oh, yeah!"

Kit Gets Her Temps

Kit passed her temps test, coinciding nicely with Papa and GG's visit. GG was cued up with a special keychain with important reminders. A couple of days later, we made it to the BMV to have her photo taken and finalize paperwork.

After practice one day this week, Doc let Kit drive home. He shared that she did a great job and was cautious. I let her drive around our old neighborhood after the BMV, and she safely drove with me, too.

Cookout at the Carlisles

On Saturday night, we caught up with Luke, Becky, and the younger Carlisle kids. It was the perfect evening to spend outdoors.

Roof Before & After

We're thankful for our neighbor Rick, who did some tile work for us, encouraging us to see if USAA would help with the roof after damage from the March 13 tornadoes and hail in our area. Much to our surprise and delight, they covered it in full. We used Rick's company ACI to replace it & went with  charcoal shingles.

Grand Opening

When Emerson and I saw the festivities at the new Orange McDonald's, we decided to stop. He got to meet Hamburglar and Grimace, received a free slushie. and spun the prize wheel. He landed on "swag" and got to choose from plastic sunglasses & a cup or a $6 gift card. On his own, he took the money. ;)

OSU Volleyball Camp

Kit and Lauren had fun and worked on their skills at OSU's overnight volleyball camp. Kit said her favorite part was opening the window after curfew & getting to know other campers.

Port Clinton '24

This was our 5th consecutive year spending time as a family in Port Clinton. As in years past, we swam, relaxed on the private beach, ate in (homemade vegan Cane's!) and out, went to the playground, played a card game, exercised, and enjoyed not having a schedule. It was our first family trip to Twin Oast (top photo of the kids). The day we went to the playground (twice), vendors were set up, and it was fun seeing the handmade goods for sale and picking out some jewelry. We were blessed with beautiful weather, too!

Kids R Kids Summer Fun

Here are shots from the summer fun Emerson has been having at Kids R Kids. He loves all of the teachers and their chef, Miss Brooke. They have weekly themes, go on a couple of field trips each week, and have water day on Fridays. We're thankful for the learning enrichment and good times he's having.

Emerson Begins to Wear Glasses

Emerson has joined the rest of us in wearing glasses! He's doing a great job leaving them on and handling them responsibly. It's perfect that he can adjust to them before schools starts.

Cousins at Old Man's Cave & Ash Cave

On Saturday, we went as a group over to Old Man's Cave and Ash Cave. This was the most intense hike Tego has ever done! He kept up pretty well for a dog getting over kennel cough.

Cousins' Camping 2024

Cousins' Camping 2024 took place at Tar Hollow State Park. We had a couple of rainy nights & some stings/bites, but that didn't stop us from having fun. The kids found a salamander in the creek, went fishing, played putt putt and basketball, watched an outdoor movie (Zootopia), made s'mores, and more. The adults made the meals, relaxed around the fire, played Sevens, and had a cornhole tournament with kids included.
