Kit's Kind Heart

Isn’t Kit the sweetest big sister? She’s been showing just how caring and generous she is.

Cedar Point 2025

Johnny dropped Sarah off to us in Sandusky, and the six of us headed to Cedar Point. Emerson measured in at 48" tall and could ride more than ever—he tackled his first big coaster, the Iron Dragon, and loved it! He also braved the Blue Streak with Dad. Kit and Doc teamed up, riding 12 rides including 7 roller coasters. Winnie and Sarah tried the Gatekeeper for the first time and were all smiles afterward. We even caught a fun show, Class of 1999. The rain held off just long enough—it only started as we were wrapping up the day.

Northern Favs & New Friends

While up north, we revisited some of our favorite spots, including Twin Oast. Check out Winnie in the same swing in Lakeview Park—2020 and now!

This year, Emerson and I took a walk to the local library and playground one day, and to Lake Donuts the next. He made a new friend named Joey (red towel), and the two of them played literally all day long—only pausing for meals! They're pictured here with Daniel, Joey's brother.

Port Clinton Getaway—Year Six!

For the sixth consecutive year, we returned to our favorite condos in Port Clinton. We were fortunate to enjoy excellent weather, which made our downtime together even more special.

Nerf Hideout

Emerson is taking his Nerf battles to the next level with a new obstacle to dive behind. It's his latest upgrade in a game that’s become one of his favorite ways to play with Dad.

Surf's Up at Alum Creek

Kit stood & stayed up on the surfboard while out boating with Simon and his family—way to go! They've been making the most of summer days with plenty of fun out on Alum Creek.

A Night with the Grandmas

The kids had a fun overnight with Grandma Jo and their honorary “Grandma” Chris—playing euchre, baking cookies, and chatting late into the evening.

Emerson’s Bright Spot at Soccer Camp

Emerson took part in a three-night soccer camp at Berlin High School, which was very well attended. He was selected as one of the players of the night. A high school player said he has strong passing skills and, even more importantly, told him he is kind on the field.

Sunday at Shale Hollow

We met up with Zac and Briella on Sunday for a fun hike at Shale Hollow. These two had a blast together, imagining themselves as queen and king as they explored the trails.

And speaking of trails, look who I ran into on my Sunday morning run!

Red, White & Blue Joy

Dad and I had a fun Fourth of July with Emerson! He was especially excited to get a little flag from Kids 'R' Kids and had a blast “flagging” it out the window—his own name for proudly displaying it as we drove around.

His Orby guns arrived just in time for the holiday, so he and Dad battled. After all that excitement, we cooled off at Ming pool and made a stop at the skate park, where Emerson got in some good biking time.

As evening rolled in, we set off a few fireworks right on the street. The perfect ending to the day was watching Glen Ross’ big fireworks show—we had front-row seats, sitting right in the roundabout.

Boys on the Bounce

Emerson and I had a fun evening taking his buddies Luke and Andrew to Buckeye Bounce in Powell, where they bounced, raced, and talked nonstop. After working up an appetite, we headed to McDonald's. They even squeezed in a little extra fun at the playground on Hyatts Road.

Scrub Shopping

Kit is getting ready to start the healthcare program at DACC! She went uniform shopping with her pal Regan as they gear up for this exciting new chapter together.
