Easter Sunday

On Easter Sunday, we went to Grandma Lovie & Grandpa's after church. The kids hunted for eggs, a first for Emerson. He wanted to throw the eggs like he does balls. Later in the day, we went skating with Zech and Sheila.

When we got home from Berlin, the girls colored Easter eggs and made banana bread.

Amish Country Overnighter

We enjoyed an overnight trip in Berlin during the Easter weekend. The Berlin Resort has a village of playhouses that the kids had a blast exploring. The indoor pool was a hit, too. Emerson liked the water this time.

4th Grade Recorder Recital

I was grateful to be able to slip away from work to attend Kit's class recorder recital. In addition to the class songs, she played "Skin and Bones" with Erin, Gianna, and Stella.

To celebrate the girls' final day of spring break, we went to Legoland Discovery Center at Easton. At lunch at Brio, Emerson said, "Fun day!"

New Start at OOD

I started my new job with Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities on Monday. On Tuesday, I toured the DSW Warehouse with Governor DeWine and Director Miller. I'm impressed with the commitment of all those involved to help individuals with disabilities learn job skills, gain internship experience, and get permanent jobs.

Farewell to DYS

I said goodbye to the Ohio Department of Youth Services (DYS) today. My friends held a nice sendoff for me. I'm blessed to have served with many cherished people to help individuals improve their lives. Now my 15-year sentence in corrections is over ;)

I chaired the 2019 Arrowhead Carnival, and in the end, I'm glad I did. It was rewarding to see families having a good time together at the school, get to know more moms, and raise funds for the school.
