Cool Play

The weekend weather gave us two days' worth of sledding (off to the side of the garage) and building an "eggloo" and snowmen.

Preschool Family Celebration

Today I attended Kit's family celebration at preschool. She was very excited to present the fine gifts she made: a placemat and a candle. The children performed a couple of fun songs, and we ate snacks. Kit is pictured with her friend Tessa.

Brunch with Santa

On Sunday we had brunch with Santa at the Arts Castle. Santa was very soft spoken, so I wasn't able to pick up too much of his conversation with the girls. Winnie kept smiling and nodding her head. Later Kit told me that she thought Santa needed a haircut. Like last year, she wanted to know where his glasses were. While at the event, the girls also decorated cookies and made a snowman craft.

On Saturday we celebrated Thanksgiving with the Jump's (and held our breath during the OSU - Michigan game). Sherrie brought the little people nutcrackers, and Mrs. Jump read the classic story of the nutcracker. After dinner, Kara and Meg provided wedding dress inspiration.

Kit's Glasses

Kit's glasses came in today; she has an astigmatism in both eyes. As usual, Kitster knew just what she wanted: the pink glasses with flowers on the sides. Her first reaction was "Everything is bigger!" She likes cleaning the glasses with a special cloth, and she and Winnie now like to play "eye doctor." Her only concern was going to storytime and having Ms. Denise not recognize her. She asked me, "Will you please tell Ms. Denise that it's still me Kit?"

Kit is thankful for "The Christmas tree, all kinds of fun gifts, special snacks at school, the Santa blanket, special ornaments from the Christmas store, the ladies' trip, and Grace." Winnie is thankful for "Mommy & Kit, my cup, my train, gifts and pictures, Daniel Tiger, and blankets."

Flower Girls

The girls love to pretend that they are flower girls at a wedding. They should be pros by the time May 4 arrives!

Annual Ladies' Christmas Gathering

We headed to Frankenmuth, Michigan for my family's annual ladies' Christmas gathering on Saturday. The city is home to Bronner's, the world's largest Christmas store. (Thanks to Aunt Berchie for the engagement ornament!) Our overnight trip included a gift exchange, dinner out, swimming in the hotel pool, and most importantly, the chance to catch up with one another.

These girls love, love, love their special ornaments! Kit was so excited to see everything again that some items just had to go in her purse instead of on the tree.

With dance classes at the Arts Castle on break, the girls have been getting their fix at home with videos and their imaginations.
