Thanksgiving 2023

We had a fun Thanksgiving with the Jump family in Kettering. There was a lot of laughter and competitiveness playing charades and spoons.

Thanksgiving Eve

After working a couple of hours on Wednesday, I took the kids to the new smoothie shop in Lewis Center and out to a few stores. Later, we had a wonderful dinner at home and shared what we appreciate about each person in the family. We also decorated the basement tree.

Basketball Cheer Begins

Basketball cheer has begun! The first home game for the 7th grade boys was colorful with intense coaching and a Bruin player flying over an opponent.

Emerson's Fun Days

A few great days for Emerson! He finally got to have kindergarten class pal Luke over to play. We had a mommy-son date at Quaker Steak & Lube. Plus he got in 10 seconds of yoga: "Can we turn it off now? I've had enough of calmness."

Athens Getaway

A big thank you to Grandmas Jo and Lovie for helping with the kids so Seth and I could enjoy hiking in Athens and at Clear Creek Metro Park!

Before & After Braces

What a difference! We appreciate Dr. Minga and Kit's opportunity to be one of his first patients at his own practice.

Kit Awarded at Volleyball Banquet

Kit was one of four freshman honored during the volleyball banquet. I couldn't be more proud of her for receiving the Bear Claw award for character, leadership, and competition.

Drab to Fab

The kids built a lovely hideaway when Karl, Nellie, and Josephine came to visit.

Trick-or-Treat

It was a cold, windy, and even snowy night for trick-or-treating! In the morning, Emerson lost his first tooth at Shell's.

Miller's Pumpkin Patch

Despite it being a dreary day, we got out to Miller's Country Garden on their last day of the season to pick out some pumpkins.

Catching Up With the Carlisles

We enjoyed meeting Becky and seeing the younger three Carlisle kids. It was fun to hear about how Luke and Becky they came together, and we're looking forward to their wedding in December. 

Smurfs

In honor of Berlin's second tournament game against Marysville, Kit, Regan, and Kenley went as Smurfs. Bears won 20-0!

School Pics 23/24

Shale Treat Trail

Our little "Grave Digger" had fun at the Shale Treat Trail. He got to see Laney and Khloe who were there volunteering. The commitment level at Shale is impressive!

Meeting Amee's Family

It was special to support Amee as she met her biological father Chuck Laufer and half siblings (left to right) Robbie, Heidi, and Terri.

Matt & Molly's Wedding

Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Kaelber! They had a gorgeous wedding and reception at the Gervasi Pavilion. Thanks to staff Facetime-ing me with their personal cell phones at the hospital, Grandpa got to watch all of the ceremony live and segments of the reception. 

The fall color was in peak season! Family pictures were chilly, but at least it wasn't raining!

The couple made us laugh as they shared their vows ("laugh/cry AT you" instead of "WITH you"). Joe also made us laugh as staff thought the black spot on the ground was from a lighted sparkler, but it was actually Joe's thrifted shoes falling apart!

Emerson said his favorite part was the bridal party couple that leapfrogged in and swung the bouquet to hit an imaginary ball. We all enjoyed catching up with family and friends, dancing, eating, and celebrating the couple!

Matt & Molly's Dinner Rehearsal

We enjoyed a lovely dinner following the wedding rehearsal at the Gervasi Bistro. Our waiter was particularly good and the food was great. We were all sorry that Grandpa couldn't be there and captured video for him.
