I’m so glad Winnie is loving competitive cheer! She and her twin, Sarah, are on the same team, which makes it even more special. I had the chance to watch part of their routine at the gym’s Showcase, and the energy in the room was absolutely incredible!

46th Birthday Joy

 

The kids and Seth made my birthday truly special. When I came downstairs, I was greeted with a heartfelt card, and the kids surprised me with sweet drawings and a fun Instagram story. Seth went all out and cooked a delicious dinner for us. Mom and John stopped by in the evening. I also appreciated all the thoughtful cards, texts, and Facebook greetings that came my way—it meant so much!

Cozy Retreat & Scenic Hikes

 

Seth and I enjoyed a two-night getaway to a cozy, treehouse-like loft in Fairborn, thanks to Grandma Jo for helping with the kids. We spent our days hiking at Glen Helen Nature Preserve, John Bryan State Park, and Buck Creek State Park, surrounded by beautiful fall scenery. To top it off, we enjoyed some great vegan meals at local spots.

Emerson Joins the Shockwave

 

Emerson started basketball on Sunday, joining his team, the Shockwave, with Seth as the assistant coach. He loves running up and down the court!

Trick-or-Treat

Kit and I enjoyed passing out treats (plus friends swung by) while dad and Emerson walked with Jen and Bryson. Emerson got in some Joey time, too. Winnie the Pooh had fun with her furry pals. Following tradition, Emerson and Winnie dumped their pillowcases right away to begin sorting.

Volleyball Banquet 2024

 

At the banquet, Kit was honored with two out of four JV volleyball awards: Most Improved Player and Best Teammate. Keep up your dedication and kindness, Kit—you’re making a difference!

Fall Gathering

 

We were happy to host Seth's family on Saturday. The kids had a lot of fun together on the trampoline, in the basement, and out front. Emerson got to share about the car he's been building. Everyone was glad the Buckeyes pulled out a win!

Winnie in Washington

 

Winnie had such a good time in Washington D.C. with her group (Khloe, Addy, and Adrianna). She especially liked her tour guide Boomer. The 8th graders got in so many sites over four days and three nights.

Shale Meadows Treat Trail

 

The Shale Meadows staff went the extra mile for this year's treat trail. My favorite set-up was probably "Inside Out 2" by the admin team. We got a kick out of all the Minions who greeted us, too. Lots of friends called hello to Emerson, the racecar driver.

Swaisgood's Halloween Party

 

We made it to the Swaisgood's Halloween party this year. No one was more surprised than me that Seth was a pickle. Winnie, Gage, and Bryson nearly coordinated (Winnie the Pooh, Elmo, and Cookie Monster). None of the kids knew who Jess was (Hulk Hogan), proof we're getting older!
