Ikea

Jess and I went to Ikea in West Chester. It was a first for both of us. The store is inspiring and expansive. We had dinner in the on-site restaurant - yeah for veggie balls! By the time we got out of there (took 4+ hours to go through!), we were pooped!

Reds Game

On Friday, we left town for a couples' trip to Cincinnati. We watched the Reds beat the Nationals 5-2. After a 1-minute sprinkling of rain, this rainbow appeared during the game. Following the win, we stuck around to watch spectacular fireworks.

Grace's Birthday Party

We celebrated Grace's 7th birthday and Memorial Day at Pirates Cove. The wind didn't keep the kids from enjoying the pool, but it did prevent Grace from having lit candles under the pavilion.

Look what Seth built!

16" Bike

It turns out that the 20" bike is a little too tall for Kit. We lucked out and found a 16" bike (just right!) at Goodwill.

Shale Hollow Preserve

This summer we're participating in Delaware County Preservation Parks' Letterbox Adventure. We have a booklet that is full of clues to the letterbox at each location as well as tidbits about the natural world. The girls loved the first hike at Shale Hollow Preserve in Lewis Center. It took us a few tries, but we eventually found the letterbox and used the stamp inside on our booklet. Seven more parks to go!

Kit's Dance Recital

Bravo to Kit for a wonderful dance recital! She seemed to enjoy every aspect of it, from hair and makeup, to rehearsing, to walking out on the big stage, and performing. Alongside the two Caitlyns, she tapped to "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" with confidence, precision, and heart. Thank you to her supporters there with us!

Mother's Day

The girls were so enthusiastic on Mother's Day! Along with Seth, they decorated the table with flowers in the morning. In the Sunday School class that I taught, they made little treasures and and posed for a photo message. During the rest of the day, Kit and Winnie worked from a list that Kitster developed: "Mom, would you like dinner, present, dessert, a royal tea, new suitcase?" (I picked all but the suitcase.) They were Seth's little helpers and pulled it all off beautifully. Thank you!

Winnie's Dance Finale

Winnie's pre-ballet class wrapped up on Saturday. Yep, she opted for socks. We enjoyed watching her every move.

On Sunday evening, we had a girls' night out with Grandma Lovie, Amy, Jeanne, and some other friends at Peace. The theme of the ladies banquet was "Hats Off to Ladies."

Second Tooth Out

Kit gave a little pull, and out came her tooth!

Need to Breathe Concert

On Saturday, we spent the evening with Meg, Nathan, Kara, and Cody. We saw Need to Breathe and several opening acts at the brand new Rose Music Center at the Heights (first night in operation).
