Memorial Day

Memorial Day was beautiful! We started the day off learning about chimpanzees and crafting. Mid-day, Grandma Lovie came and helped with the girls so that we could do some shopping. In the late afternoon, we went to Alum Creek for a little play & relaxation.

Surprises for Aunt Berchie

Justin and Amanda hosted a surprise 65th birthday party for Aunt Berchie. She was especially happy to discover Joe and Michelle came and was thrilled to hear that they are expecting!

Summer Begins!

Kit finished up first grade on May 25th (top picture). Summer has officially begun! To celebrate, we started summer journals, enrolled in the library's summer reading program, had a picnic at the park at Cheshire Crossing, bought Kona ice, and had a pool party with Nova. She also sort of spent the night...that is, until she wanted to go home around midnight :)

Field Trip to the Zoo

Kit loved her the 1st grade field trip to the zoo. Her "favorite part was when Mr. K got chased by geese."

Tour of Arrowhead Elementary

Today our friend Luke Carlisle, currently the principal at Arrowhead, gave us a tour of the school the girls will attend in August. It was the last day, so we made it just in time!

Prayers for Amber

Today we took a meal to and spent time with Amber and the kiddos. Please pray that she will be healed of stage-2 breast cancer and for continued comfort after losing her daughter last year.

Dancing Through the Decades

We were all excited to watch Kit and her combo class perform tap to "Footloose" and ballet to "True Colors" in this year's Arts Castle recital, Dancing Through the Decades. That girl was a shining star from the time she took the stage until she danced right off (just as instructed). Once again, she was the leader of the group, remembering the moves and executing precisely and energetically. Kit told me at dress rehearsal, "I really do love to dance," and it sure does show!

Current favorites: cartwheels, backbends, the splits, and anything involving arm strength!

Winnie's Final Dance Class

Today Winnie had her last dance class of the season - with Miss Naomi. She did a great job remembering the moves to Beauty and the Beast's "Be Our Guest."

Mother's Day 2016

I enjoyed a beautiful Mother's Day with Kit, Winnie, and Seth. They had loving cards and gifts for me, and the girls made me treasures at church, too. We had lunch with Grandma Lovie & everyone before heading home.

187 Grandview Ave.

We officially closed on the sale of our home at 187 Grandview Ave. today. It's been a great home that we have enjoyed, and I will always cherish the memories of times we had here. I am proud of all the love it has been given in the four years that we have been here. I'll miss this cozy little home and the Bargers next door!
