Dayton Visits

 

Along with Tego, we got to be part of two family gatherings! What a social weekend for us - feels good to be around people freely again ;) Matt and Molly hosted a gathering for their families to meet. At the Meyers, Tego met his "cousin" Nash, a goldendoodle that they just welcomed to the family.

Visit with the Bargers

 

We loved being able to see the Bargers again, and they were so happy we brought along Tego. Miss Pat might just be one of the best human beings I know. She's intelligent, interested in others, down-to-earth, content, unfailingly positive, and has a great sense of humor.

Tego's First Bath

 

Tego looked so tiny without all of his fluff! He also got very cold, despite getting blow-dried.

Tego's First Week

 

Tego has been doing great! We handfeed him and use meal times for training. The first couple of nights were a little tough, but he's getting the hang of going out. Isn't he just so cute?!

Last Day of School

 

Both Kit and Winnie were excited it was their last day of school (6th and 4th), but only one daughter was excited to have her picture taken, LOL.

Emerson's Convertible Ride

 

Big Grandpa stopped by to meet Tego and took Emerson out for a convertible ride.

Picking Up Tego

 

We became a family of six today with the addition of Tego, our mini labradoodle born on March 31, 2021. He's from The King Puppies in Archbold, Ohio. His parents were Beau and Zimba. You can see his aunt in the photo of Emerson and Tego. 

There were lots of snuggles on the 2 1/2 hour drive home. Everyone did great.

When we got home, I heard the girls having a discussion about a fear that they were dreaming and Tego wouldn't be real when they woke up.

Grace's 13th Birthday

 

We had fun in Bowling Green celebrating Grace's 13th birthday. Jess and Andy did a great job making the gathering and sleepover fun. I got to run through the BG Simpson Garden Park on Sunday morning - it's beautiful!

Visiting the Parsells

 

We had a great visit with John and Jo and were so thankful that John was having a good weekend. The girls shared what they have been up to, and Emerson played with toys the girls had enjoyed when they were younger. And of course, there were cookies ;)

Soccer Wrap-Up

 

Soccer wrapped up today. Emerson and his teammates were delighted to each get a personalized trophy. Seth was delighted to get a thank you note from a player ;) What a positive first sport experience for Emerson!

Sprinkler

 

A beautiful day! Sprinkler under the trampoline. Nope, sorry - doesn't count as your shower (this time!).

Pappa & GG's Visit

 

Pappa and GG came to visit today. We enjoyed the patio, played outside and in the basement, had lasagna, and celebrated Emerson's birthday early.

Soccer at Seldom Seen Park

 

Emerson did great at soccer today, held at Seldom Seen Playground. It was great seeing him run and kick this time around. Kit came with us, and a big shout out to her - she got her first COVID vaccination today!

Kit's Friend Group

 

Kit has a great friend group from Hyatt's Middle School: Kaylin, Eli, and Alex. They like to talk, play online games, and share choral interests. They are pictured above at a gathering from a couple of weeks ago at Kaylin's house. We hosted on Friday night, and I was impressed with how they included Emerson and Winnie in some of their fun.

Patio Sealed

 

I took a half-day on Friday to seal the patio - you can see the difference between the lower level (sealed) and the upper level (unsealed).

Ice Cream Truck

 

Emerson and I ran to flag down the ice cream truck. This was Emerson's first time, and hopefully it's memorable since he laughed all the way down the street.

Seminary Hill Farm

 

We joined a CSA and are enjoying fresh bounty on Tuesdays from Seminary Hill Farm at the Methodist Theological Seminary. 

Working Hard at Gymnastics

 

Good job to Winnie on completing another session at COGC. She works hard and often comes home from class and practices more.

Zoo with the Meyers

 

We enjoyed a summerlike day at the Columbus Zoo with the Meyers. It was great catching up! A highlight was watching a mother and baby orangutan play.

Grandpa's Camper

 

We're sorry Grandma is in the hospital & prayers for a speedy recovery. Emerson had been looking forward to Grandma and Grandpa coming to his soccer game. That understandably couldn't happen, but Grandpa surprised Emerson by bringing his camper to the house.

Jumpoline Day

 

Doc had lots of help from Winnie and Sarah - they set up the trampoline today!
