Spring Showcase

This past Sunday marked a major milestone with Winnie’s final MWX Showcase. It was an incredible day of performances, starting with her primary team, Lady Nukes, who did an amazing job on the mat. Winnie also performed with Aftershock, the bonus training team she opted into around the start of the year.

The best part was the support from the audience. It was so special to have Grandma Jo, her dad, Johnny, and Sarah there with us to cheer her on.

It was also great to have Johnny and Sarah over in the evening.

Next up is the final competition of the season in Florida!

Royal Rumble

The Lady Nukes team spent two days in Columbus competing at Royal Rumble Nationals. Winnie and I really enjoyed our time together during the trip. The coaches switched a few things up, and while the team struggled a bit, they pushed through.

Winnie and I got our wires crossed and sat in the wrong room during awards—missing the entire thing! We later found out the team earned third place, and all we could do was laugh at ourselves.

Lady Nukes Go Orange—First Competition

I had a great time supporting Winnie at the Lady Nukes' very first competition — GMCE Go Orange in Fairfield, Ohio! She was definitely feeling those pre-performance nerves, but once the team hit the floor, they came together beautifully and delivered an awesome routine.

Winnie loved having her team perform early so she could relax afterward and cheer on the other groups throughout the day.

MWX Showcase 2025

With the first competition just one week away, the Lady Nukes hit the mat for the MWX Showcase, giving them a chance to show off all their hard work.

Winnie’s support crew included Seth, Emerson, Grandma Jo, and myself (Kit was cheering her on from work). Winnie is excelling as both a "base" (the foundational position that lifts and supports the flyer in stunts) and a tumbler. Her dedication really shone through!

Strong Defense, First Win

Emerson had a standout soccer game on Saturday! He was on defense and kept the ball from getting past him — and it was against the infamous Charlie's team with the "Yelling Mom Coach" that intimidates us all! Dad's team celebrated their very first win, and to top it off, Emerson earned a medal for good sportsmanship.

Flag Football

Emerson started I-9 flag football today, and what an exciting start it was! In his very first game, he scored a touchdown!

Otterbein Volleyball Camp

Kit enjoyed her four days at Otterbein's volleyball camp. On the first day, she texted me, "I love this camp. I want to go every year."

I was glad to be at the closeout and award ceremony. Kit received some helpful feedback from her coach.

Soccer at Seldom Seen Park

Emerson did great at soccer today, held at Seldom Seen Playground. It was great seeing him run and kick this time around. Kit came with us, and a big shout out to her - she got her first COVID vaccination today!

Teammate Medal

Kit and I finally got to watch Emerson at soccer. He sure is a runner! Seth said today he did his best yet. Much to Emerson's delight, he was awarded the teammate medal. (Previously, when asked how he liked soccer, he said, "I'll be happy when I get that coin.")  It was fun watching all of the little ones & Seth in his element coaching.

Final Tournament

J.23 competed in their final tournament at the Columbus Convention Center. Coach Matt filled in for Amaya, and I filled in as coordinator for Olivia. Kit had another good day of serving and bumping. She and I celebrated the season by having lunch in the Polaris area before going home.

Coshocton Volleyball Tournament

Kit's J.23 team had a two-day volleyball tournament in Coshocton. She did great with consistent serves and return bumps. We enjoyed our one-on-one time, which included dinner at a Mexican restaurant & staying at a cheap hotel.

Emerson Begins Soccer

I was bummed to miss Emerson's first soccer game since I was away for Kit's volleyball. Seth is the coach of the i9 Sports' Blue Dragons team. Apparently Seth can manage 3-year-olds while carrying around his own hesitant player. Thank you, Winnie, for the photos and videos!

Zanesville Tournament

Kit did a great job during the Zanesville tournament. She had some good bumps and serves. It was the first time her coach put her in to serve for someone else!
