Christmas Morning

This morning we discovered that Santa came and snow fell! I heard a lot of "This is exactly what I wanted!" and "This is the best Christmas ever!" Kit and Winnie had a little gift bag under the tree for me, and I was delighted to receive hearts that Winnie decorated, a purple snowflake from Kit, and a note from Kit that she told me says, "I love Mom. From Kit."

Christmas Eve with Kit and Winnie

On Monday we observed Christmas Eve, and what a fun time we had! The girls wrapped their gifts, listened to the story of Jesus' birth, made cookies, hung stockings, sang and dance, checked out Christmas lights from the car, and left Santa a late-night snack. Kit asked to wear her clothes to bed, and when I asked why, she said, "Because it's a special night!" I can't argue with that!

A Sunday in Gahanna

We spent Sunday in Gahanna with Seth at the condo he's renting from friends. It was fun for the girls to play with all of the toys that remain. We also took a walk around Creekside and stopped for a picture by the Christmas tree.

Nutcracker Ballet

The girls finished up their nutcracker ballet classes at the Arts Castle on Saturday. For both of them, the experience was total bliss! On our way in, Kit told me, "Mommy, my letter to Santa is on the wall." We went back to check, and sure enough, her letter handed to Santa at brunch at the Arts Castle was on the bulletin board. I assured her that Santa took note of the items on his master list.

Engagement Photos

Now that the Christmas/Save the Date cards have been received by family and friends, we can freely share our engagement pictures. These were taken Oct. 27th at the Park of Roses in Clintonville by photographer Matt Caneglosi. We were blessed with perfect weather and happy girls that day!

Kaelber Christmas Gathering

The girls were delighted to play with Anna at the Kaelber Christmas gathering. They weren't as crazy about being teased by Zech and Matthew!

Make It Monday: Baby Jesus and Manger

The girls each made a baby Jesus from pantyhose and a manger from an oatmeal container.

Cool Play

The weekend weather gave us two days' worth of sledding (off to the side of the garage) and building an "eggloo" and snowmen.

Preschool Family Celebration

Today I attended Kit's family celebration at preschool. She was very excited to present the fine gifts she made: a placemat and a candle. The children performed a couple of fun songs, and we ate snacks. Kit is pictured with her friend Tessa.

Blanket Rides

...Jingle all the way! Oh what fun it is to ride on a sleeping bag indoors!

Brunch with Santa

On Sunday we had brunch with Santa at the Arts Castle. Santa was very soft spoken, so I wasn't able to pick up too much of his conversation with the girls. Winnie kept smiling and nodding her head. Later Kit told me that she thought Santa needed a haircut. Like last year, she wanted to know where his glasses were. While at the event, the girls also decorated cookies and made a snowman craft.
