Emerson's 2nd Birthday Party

Emerson had fun at his "lawn mower" 2nd birthday party. He made everyone laugh with his reaction (a happy growl of sorts) to receiving a second serving of ice cream. He loved opening gifts and playing with new toys with the other little boys.

Emerson had a happy 2nd birthday. He wore the special shirt that the girls made him for his 1st birthday. Kit and Winnie went to Michele's with him because they felt it was important to be with him during the day, especially the exact time that he was born. When I said "I love you" at bedtime, he replied "I yuv you."

Memorial Day

We celebrated Memorial Day with the Yarns. When Emerson suddenly started crying, I thought maybe he had been stung by a bee. Instead, we realized he was startled by seeing a mama raccoon and her babies down in our yard drain.

Start of Summer

A trip to the splashpad heralded the start of summer. It's hard to say which Emerson loved more: the water play or ice cream he had after.

Club's 1-Year Anniversary

The members of the "We Hate Asparagus" club planned a detailed 1-year anniversary party, which include invitations, decorations, a parade, and a cookout.

Last Day of School

The last day of school came with an early dismissal & girls who were over it already! No smiling for mom's camera...serious about playing.

Grace's 11th Birthday

Grace celebrated her birthday with a sloth-themed party and sleepover. Seth, Emerson, and I stayed in a nearby hotel. Emerson had fun in the indoor pool. Rather than sleep in a Pack 'n Play, which has rarely gone well, Emerson slept on a yoga mat.

Heritage Fair

Kit did a great job with her presentation on England during the Heritage Fair at school.

Mother's Day

Thank you kids & Seth for a special Mother's Day! I came down to a table decorated with succulents, cards, a special box, and a book made by Kit.

Kit's Dance Recital

We had a full weekend with Kit's dance recital :) At the dress rehearsal, I was surprised to see Kit diving into the arms of her classmates during one of the routines.  On Saturday, I volunteered to help sign kids in and out, and it was a good thing Winnie came along because she passed out programs. Kit had quite the fan club in attendance & we all enjoyed watching her do her thing!
