Early Thanksgiving

It's a good thing Matthew enhanced his patio this summer! We enjoyed an early Thanksgiving & were fortunate to have decent weather. Thanks for hosting, Matt and Molly.

 

Birthday Outing

 

We enjoyed lunch at North Star Café on Saturday to celebrate my 42nd birthday. Before heading home, we stopped by Alum Creek Dam...burr. As you can see, Emerson was not thrilled to slow down for a photo.

Congrats, Winnie!

 

Sadly, Ms. Alex had to give up being Winnie's piano teacher. She took on a full-time teaching position with Columbus City Schools. But, we were very glad to find Winnie's new teacher - Ms. Winnie! After just one week, Winnie was #1 on the elementary leaderboard (practice is timed and tracked by an app).

Also, Winnie's third grade yearbook arrived a few weeks ago. Her drawing was selected as featured art in the yearbook! What a nice surprise after a long wait.

Imaginary Friends

 

Emerson's imaginary friends became visible and visited tonight. Say hello to Kendo/Bendo (Winnie) and Trondo (Kit).

Grandpa's 60th Birthday

 

Grandpa got his birthday wish: mom got off of the ventilator today. Progress! We had him over for lasagna and cake. Matt & Molly dropped in to celebrate, too.

Halloween

 

Happy Halloween! Kit, Winnie, and Sarah had fun preparing individually wrapped candy bags. Our neighborhood started trick-or-treat early in order to finish in time for the OSU game. It was great having light longer. Kit and Kenley went as M & M's. Emerson went as a firefighter and lasted for two full streets. Winnie and Cam went as Lucy & Ethel. 

Pumpkins

 

The girls' pumpkins were inspired by the game "Among Us" that they like to play on their devices. Emerson painted his pumpkin. Once it was dry, he was ready to use it like a ball until I intercepted.

Weekend Fun

It was a good weekend to be outside. Congrats to Kit on making the j.23 Junior Mints volleyball team! Emerson has been loving paint. We visited Blue Limestone park.

Half Marathon - COVID-Style

 

Today's long run turned into a half marathon! I made the decision around mile 5 and texted Seth. It was fun to have the family cheer for me at the "finish line" at home.

Miller's Pumpkin Patch

We had perfect weather for pumpkin picking on Saturday at Miller's Country Gardens. They had a great set-up for social distancing, and we were able to continue our annual tradition.

Basement Play

 

We're getting into colder weather, and that means more basement play. Emerson has gotten the hang of the rings.

Make It Monday: Spiderwebs

 

Today all three kids made spiderwebs. I'm not so sure this is Emerson's "thing" as he tore it up pretty quickly :) The girls had a homeschool day, and Kit was helpful to Winnie.

Tow Truck

 

Grandma and Grandpa brought Emerson a new tow truck. They also gave the girls spending money for school clothes. Thank you!
