Kit and Winnie gave Miss Pat and Mr. Jeff a hand with Halloween decorating (in their costumes, of course).

Backpacking
Seth and I had a great time backpacking at Zaleski State Forest. The weather was perfect, and the autumn colors were just beginning. Acorns, however, were in full force. My packing list should have included a helmet!
Weekend with Grandparents
Special thanks to Grandma Lovie and Big Grandpa who watched the girls over weekend so that Seth and I could go backpacking. They kept busy with dance classes, the school fall carnival, Applefest at Lawrence Orchards (Winnie's first pony ride!), and church.

So Over Soccer
With two more weeks to go, the girls are asking to be done with soccer. Maybe their enthusiasm will return when they can play in a girls' league. They are both afraid of the larger boys. I'm hoping we can stick it out and gain a lesson in perseverance.

Girl Scouts at City Council
On Monday, Troop 2055 said the Pledge of Allegiance at the City Council meeting. On the way to City Hall, I was explaining the outing to Kit. She asked, "Will President Obama be there?" When I explained that he would not likely be present, she thought about it and said, "God is his boss."
The girls were awarded community awareness badges by Mayor Carolyn Riggle.

Camp Crooked Lane
We spent Thursday night and Friday at Camp Crooked Lane in Mt. Gilead with our Troop. The count was 17 girls, 2 toddlers, and 4 adults. Kit and Winnie had a blast! They made crafts (jewelry box with lid, necklace, and fun fusion beads), participated in Daisy lessons, assisted with cooking over a fire, hiked, watched Frozen, and more.
All of the Daisies, Brownies, and Juniors are so sweet. Kit is pumped to have a bunch of new friends, and everyone makes over Winnie and ensures that she's included. Girls Scouts is quickly becoming their favorite extracurricular!

Baby Reid Comes to Visit
On Tuesday, Amy, Nicholas, and Reid (6 weeks old) came to visit. Could this little guy be any cuter?!

Treasured Note from Kit
Kit gave me this note that she wrote all by herself. It says, "I love my family Witches Kit Mom Doc Dad Winn." (I'm thinking the witches part was inspired by a book we have from the library!)

ECC Ice Cream Social
On Wednesday evening, we participated in the Early Childhood Center's ice cream social at Blue Limestone Park. Winnie had fun interacting with Mrs. Warnock, and Kit was overjoyed to catch up with Mrs. Rotondo.
