Kit Takes Over the Closet

Kit has taken over the hall closet! She and Rylan gave Emerson a lesson in coloring.

15 Months Old!

Emerson is 15 months old today! He throws a fast ball, loves blueberries, likes to play in the basement, often rearranges our shoes, and is expressive with his emerging language.

We celebrated fall birthdays with a weekend gathering at our house and Cross Creek Campground. Kara and Cody revealed their happy news of another baby on the way!

Visit with the Bargers

Today we caught up with Jack, Pat, and Jeff. The girls were excited to share that they got their ears pierced. Ms. Pat shared that she wished she had done that.

August Birthday Celebration

We celebrated August birthdays (Matt's, Grandma's, and Zech's) at the Crack Barrel in Grove City. Emerson tried ice cream for the first time. Despite the serious face, he liked it!

First Day of School

And they're off to 2nd and 4th grades!

Open House

We delivered school supplies and met the teachers at Arrowhead's Open House. Kit has Ms. Hess-Klein and Mrs. Uhlenhenke for 4th grade. Winnie, who is starting 2nd grade, has Mrs. Kendall, the school's current Teacher of the Year.

Having Fun with Grandpa

Grandpa had a little fun with Emerson when we dropped off the girls to spend the night.

Kit & Stella

Kit's pal Stella came to play today. The girls are excited to know that they are in the same class again!

Another Girls' Day Out

The girls and I had the chance to have another special day together before school starts. They had an assortment of choices and opted for a tour of Velvet Ice Cream in Utica (Kit's pick) and mining at Cross Creek Campground (Winnie's pick). We also stopped by Legend Hills Orchard near Utica and the Statue of Liberty in Sunbury.

Great job to Winnie today - she didn't let an ear infection keep her from having a good time.

14 Months

Emerson turned 14 months old today. He's quite the explorer, and he especially likes rummaging through the pantry. He lets us know what he wants by pointing and vocalizing. Sometimes he gets mad when he doesn't get his way. He's very generous with blowing kisses, hugs, and high-fives.

Ears Pierced!

We had the most fun girls' day! The girls were delighted to stop by Krispy Kreme before going to Sweet and Sassy for haircuts. While there, I asked if they wanted to get their ears pierced, and before they had the chance to reconsider, it was done! They were surprised it made their ears itch. Then we shopped at Crazy 8 and Claires, followed by lunch at Subway. 

Visit to Indian Lake

On Monday, the kids and I went to see Aunt Berchie, Uncle Jim, Grace and Gage at Indian Lake. I think the older kids enjoy the lillypad even more than the pool!

First Harvest

The girls picked tomatoes this morning.

Rocky Fork State Park

Emerson got his first experience in boating at Rocky Fork State Park. He wasn't so sure about the life jacket on a hot day. We camped next to Grandma and Grandpa for one night.
